CHATGPT ADS MANAGEMENT

ChatGPT Ads are here.

ChatGPT Ads are sponsored placements that appear as a labelled card beneath ChatGPT’s answer, matched to the topic of the conversation rather than a search term or a person’s profile. It launched in Australia in April 2026 and is still very new. I’ll set it up properly, manage it honestly, and tell you clearly whether it’s worth your budget right now.

Fewer advertisers, less noise, more room to learn.

Australian ChatGPT usage more than doubled in the twelve months before ads launched here, so the audience is real and growing quickly. Being early doesn’t guarantee results on a platform this young, and I won’t pretend it does. But it does mean a small test now costs you very little to find out, while waiting means testing later against more competition and higher costs.

Is ChatGPT Ads right for you?

Worth testing if…

  • Your service is genuinely difficult to sum up in a keyword, and a described context might capture it better
  • You already have a Google Ads or Meta account working, and can afford a small, separate test budget
  • Being visibly early to a new channel matters to how your business positions itself
  • You’re comfortable with limited reporting and won’t be able to fully diagnose a quiet result

Probably not yet if…

  • You need this campaign to justify itself with detailed reporting or fast proof of return
  • Your entire marketing budget is tight and needs to go where the data can show you what’s working
  • You haven’t yet built a working, well-tracked campaign anywhere else

ChatGPT Ads Management Services. What’s included?

Some agencies are already pitching this platform with award badges, client counts and case studies that would be genuinely hard to build on a channel this new. I’d rather be straightforward about what you’re actually getting. I manage your ChatGPT Ads myself with no junior handoff and no outsourced overseas teams, however this is a new platform with genuine limitations which I’ll explain upfront.

Account strategy & setup

Getting the account configured correctly, including a landing page check, since a restrictive robots.txt file can quietly disqualify a campaign before it starts.

Context & creative

Writing the headline, description and context hints that give this new matching system the best chance of showing your ad in the right conversations.

Ongoing management

Monitoring spend, clicks and cost per click against a clearly set test budget, with no junior handoff.

Reporting

An honest monthly read on whether the platform is worth continuing, scaling cautiously, or pausing, in plain English.

COMMON QUESTIONS ASKED

Straight answers, before you cook a call.

Different thing entirely. This is a paid placement you pay for directly, similar in spirit to a Google or Meta ad. Optimising your existing content so it’s more likely to be cited in ChatGPT’s organic answers is a separate, unpaid activity.

No. Only Free and Go tier users see ads. Anyone on a paid Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Education plan never sees them, worth knowing if your ideal customer is likely to be a paid subscriber.

Aggregated impressions, clicks, cost per click and click-through rate. There’s currently no way to see who clicked or what they were asking about. I’ll be upfront each month about what the numbers do and don’t tell us.

A small test budget is enough to learn something, and pricing on the platform itself has been dropping since launch. My management fee is a flat rate agreed upfront based on the work involved, not a percentage of your ad spend.

Once the account is approved and your landing page is checked, a first campaign can usually be live within a week.

No, but it helps. It’s most sensible as a small, separate test alongside a channel that’s already working, rather than a first or only advertising channel.

Other digital marketing services.

ChatGPT Ads launched in Australia in April 2026 and almost nobody is running them properly yet, which is a genuine early-mover advantage for the right kind of business. It’s also a young platform with real limitations worth knowing before you spend anything. So if you have a limited budget, I would always recommend a tried and tested platform like Google Ads first.

Google Ads

If you’re not already running ads in the search engines to reach people already searching for your product, this is the usually the first step.

Google Ad Grants

If you’re a not-for-profit that is not utilising Google’s free $10,000 USD/month ad spend, we need to talk.
